2017-18 Season Featured Artist Avi Avital with Mandolin

I am thrilled to unveil our 2017-18 Essential Series! Highlights include an 80th birthday celebration for iconic composer Philip Glass with his ensemble in a unique live performance to accompany a screening of the 1982 film KOYAANISQATSI; dance performances by Ezralow Dance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and the Argentinian all-male company Che Malambo; jazz pioneer Monty Alexander; and a return engagement from Fifth House Ensemble who will perform a new arrangement of the musical score to the video game Journey, performed interactively with onstage gamers.

Our 2017-18 Lexus Broadway in Austin season includes the Austin premieres of a new musical based on the Academy Award-winning movie, An American in Paris; the gorgeous Lincoln Center Theater revival of The King and I; the new Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the hit movie School of Rock; and the Tony Award-winning Best Musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder; plus, the return of The Book of Mormon which will play for one week only.

I am incredibly excited to announce that Hamilton will be coming to Bass Concert Hall in the 2018-19 season! The best way to guarantee tickets to Hamilton is to become a Lexus Broadway in Austin subscriber for the 2017-18 season, which begins in Fall 2017. Only renewing subscribers for the 2018-19 season will be able to guarantee their tickets for the Austin premiere of Hamilton before tickets become available to the general public.

You'll be delighted to know that TPA is again offering 3, 4, and 5-show subscriptions, with substantial discounts. And, you may choose 1 Broadway show as part of your season subscription. With the many great benefits and savings, becoming a TPA subscriber is your most affordable option.

I would kindly ask that you consider adding a Texas Inner Circle membership or Student Ticket Fund donation to your season subscription. Membership donations from TPA patrons like you support $10 student tickets, paid student employment for about 100 UT students, and free Youth Performances for area schools. I can also promise you that a Texas Inner Circle Membership provides you with a VIP experience like no other in Austin!

Thank you in advance for your continued support of Texas Performing Arts.
