Texas Performing Arts is much more than a showplace for fine arts students and visiting performers. It is also a vital hub where students, faculty, and the Central Texas community connect and share ideas. The idea for a designated student space at Bass Concert Hall was proposed by a Texas Performing Arts student employee, and The Loft officially opened on September 1, 2011, on the 6th Floor of Bass Concert Hall.
Attend Fun Loft Events
Before and after Texas Performing Arts shows, we host student events in The Loft. These events generally consist of activities related to the show, contests, and food. Our events are completely free and they are a great way to meet other students interested in the performing arts or just relax before the show. The Loft is also the meeting place for Hook 'em Arts, our student organization.
The Loft features:
- A Polaroid photo booth
- A graffiti wall to draw on
- The Honeycutt Terrace with a view of the stadium and the UT Tower
- Art and statues from the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Join Our Student Organization Hook 'em Arts
Open to all UT students who have an interest in the performing arts, Hook ‘em Arts meets every Monday, at 5 pm in The Loft.
