Austin's Biggest Theatre

Opened in 1981, this flagship theatre of Texas Performing Arts is the largest in Austin, with seating for up to 3,000. The Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Concert Hall boasts a vast stage, an adjustable orchestra pit, dressing rooms to accommodate more than 100 performers, and advanced production technology. A mammoth backstage area includes shops for scenic fabrication, painting, metalwork, props, and stage automation. Ranking among the finest performance spaces in the country both in size and capabilities, Bass Concert Hall attracts the world’s greatest performers and large-scale productions.

Renovations
2007

A $15M renovation upgraded the theater acoustics and vastly expanded the lobby with a new atrium and glass façade, additional restrooms, and improved patron amenities.

2012
Seating on the orchestra level was replaced.

2021
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a $3.5M renovation rebuilt the seating in both balconies, improved the lobbies, and upgraded audio/video infrastructure.
