This backing is an exceptional example of architectural rendering and translucent stained glass window lighting effects. I was a hit musical filled with painted backdrops and rich environments emblematic of MGM's style.  This backing is for the somber scene of the king's death where the young prince must give up his happiness for duty to serve his kingdom. This stunning architectural drawing was made possible by the work of MGM's perspective master, Ben Carré.
