BASS CONCERT HALL ON SATURDAY, JUNE 11th.

AUSTIN, TX – Renowned poet, artist, and performer Rupi Kaur brings her world tour to Bass Concert Hall on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at 8 p.m. Presented by Texas Performing Arts as part of their Texas Welcomes Series, tickets for the breakthrough author’s performance go on sale on Friday, December 3 at 10 a.m. Texas Inner Circle members can access presale tickets starting Thursday, December 2 at 10 a.m. For more information, visit texasperformingarts.org.

ABOUT RUPI KAUR
Rupi Kaur is a poet, artist, and performer. As a 21-year-old university student Rupi wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first poetry collection, milk and honey. Next came its artistic sibling, the sun and her flowers. These collections have sold over 8 million copies and have been translated into over 42 languages. Her most recent book, home body, debuted #1 on bestsellers lists across the world. In 2021, Rupi executive produced and starred in her debut film, Rupi Kaur Live, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Through the power of her voice, Rupi Kaur brings a captivating performance to the world stage in an all-new spoken word poetry experience. Audiences will be taken on a journey of personal loss and love, growth, mental health, community, friendship, and strength. These universal themes take center stage as original music scores the show and projections immerse audiences.

ABOUT TEXAS PERFORMING ARTS
Texas Performing Arts is the performing arts presenting program of The University of Texas at Austin and operates campus venues including Bass Concert Hall and McCullough Theatre. It is the home of the Broadway in Austin series, a curated program of performing arts, and a host of comedy and concert events. In the calendar year 2019 Bass Concert Hall had the highest number of tickets sold of any theater in Austin, was #2 in the State of Texas, and #22 in the world, according to industry publication Pollstar. Following a national search, Tony Award-winning producer Bob Bursey was appointed Executive and Artistic Director in January of 2020.
