Texas Performing Arts Presents: Take Care

Texas Performing Arts presents Take Care, a FREE socially distanced mental health and wellness event for University of Texas students focused on safely fostering the principles of self-care, resilience, and community connection on campus during the pandemic.

The event takes place under the Texas Big Top tent on the Bass Concert Hall Plaza on Tuesday, September 29th and features a short wellness discussion and guided meditation by an instructor from the FIT Institute of Texas. Austin artist Jonathan K. Horstmann of the band Urban Heat and formerly BLXPLTN will then perform a blend of analog synthesizers and spoken word excerpts from his writings on non-violence.

Masks are required for staff and attendees at all times during the event and a distanced seating grid will allow for 10ft spacing between seats. Capacity is strictly limited and pre-registration at texasperformingarts.org is required to attend. Sanitization stations will be available at all entrances, under the tent, and inside the Bass Concert Hall restrooms.

Students will present their e-ticket beginning at 6:30 pm and TPA staff will assign their seat. The wellness discussion begins at 7 pm.

Give yourself the time to be present alongside your campus community and Take Care.
