Security Information

To assist with making your visit to campus safe and enjoyable, please note the following safety procedures are in place for all convocations and the university-wide commencement ceremony.

Backpacks, tote bags or any bag larger than 12 inches in any dimension will not be allowed into any of the Commencement venues.

All bags are subject to search by security personnel, including purses, camera cases and diaper bags.

We strongly urge all attendees not to bring bags to any of the ceremonies unless they are absolutely necessary. Visitors bringing the smaller bags should expect delays in order to enter the venue and those with prohibited larger bags will be turned away. Please plan accordingly. Do not bring any packages that cannot be opened or inspected.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:
The following items may not be brought into the ceremony. In addition to items listed here, other items that may be deemed to present a potential hindrance or threat may also be prohibited.
(some items may be checked in at Guest Services for a fee)

• Outside Food & Beverages
• Tripods (Monopods are OK)
• Large Bags or Backpacks
• Large Signs (Signs smaller than 14” x 12” are OK)
• Weapons
• Noise Makers
• Balloons
• Glass Vases
• Selfie-Sticks

*All guests must pass through the security checkpoint, including a bag check, prior to entering the building.

DOOR TIMES:
Generally we open our lobby doors 1 hour prior to ceremony start time. We wait until the lobbies are clear and clean from the one commencement before allowing entry for the next commencement. Times are subject to change.

ACCESSIBLE SEATING:
Accessible seating cannot be reserved for Commencements. Accessible seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Please see a house manager or an usher when you arrive and let them know you need accessible seating. Accessible seating is available on all levels. Accessible seating is reserved for guests needing accessible seats plus one companion only.

STROLLERS:
Strollers are not allowed inside the auditorium. Please see a house manager for designated parking area.
