Langston Lee of Austin and Lauren Marchand Win Top Prizes At The 2023 Jimmy Awards

On June 26 the most talented teenagers from across the country took the stage at the Minskoff Thetare for the 14th Annual Jimmy Awards. Langston Lee from Rouse High School in Austin and and Lauren A. Marchand from Jericho High School in New York took top honors for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Perfromance by an Actress. This was the first year that Austin, Texas, was represented at the Jimmys thanks to Texas Performing Arts, home to Broadway in Austin.

Last night, Langston Lee from Rouse High School in Austin and and Lauren Marchand from Jericho High School in New York took top honors for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress at the Jimmy Awards. This morning they visited Good Morning America to talk about the experience.

Monday night, Austin-area student Langston Lee won a Jimmy Award in New York City for Best Performance by an Actor. A 2023 Heller Award winner, this was the first year that Heller winners could compete at the national level, thanks in part to a partnership with Texas Performing Arts, a member of the Broadway League.

Austin one of six cities to host Tina Fey, Amy Poehler joint tour
