Dawn Upshaw cancels

DAWN UPSHAW, SOPRANO
CANCELS SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, PERFORMANCE
IN BATES RECITAL HALL
DUE TO ILLNESS

Dawn Upshaw, scheduled to perform at Texas Performing Arts’ Bates Recital Hall on Sunday, January 22, has had to cancel the performance due to illness.

Upshaw’s management has issued a statement saying, “Dawn Upshaw is withdrawing from upcoming January 2012 performances in order to complete recovery after successful surgery to remove a small malignancy (unrelated to her 2006 breast cancer). Her physicians have confirmed that the prognosis for a full recovery is excellent, and she expects to resume her performance schedule next month.”

Patrons who purchased tickets using a credit card, either online, by phone, or in person, will be automatically refunded beginning Monday, January 9. If the refund does not appear on the credit card statement by Friday, January 13, please call Texas Box Office at (512) 477-6060. Patrons who purchased with cash or check, please contact the Texas Performing Arts ticket office at (512) 471-1444. Texas Box Office requests that all tickets be shredded or thrown away.

We look forward to rescheduling Ms. Upshaw’s recital during a future season.
