2009-2010 ArtesAméricas Season Announced!

The 2009-2010 ArtesAméricas Season has finally arrived! Subscriptions are available now and single-tickets tickets will go on-sale July 15! As always, student tickets will be available for a mere $10…and that’s ALL students, not just UT!
This year’s season boasts a little bit of everything, from Brazilian musical icon Gilberto Gil to the formidable, rising talent of André Mehmari. Bruno Beltrão and Grupo de Rua put a new spin on hip hop and contemporary dance, while Colombia’s Álvaro Restrepo returns to Austin with El Colegio del Cuerpo on two separate occasions, preparing for an unprecedented collaboration with the University of Texas’s Dance Repertory Theatre in “Canción del Cuerpo.” Kicking off the season and In anticipation of Mexico’s Bicentennial and Centennial Celebrations in 2010, ArtesAméricas will present Nortec Collective featuring Bostich and Fussible, whose fusion of electronica and traditional Mexican norteña music will shed some light on the next 100 years of Mexican artistic creation, while keeping the audience on their feet from start to finish.
